“We worked with Tony and Mike from Building Tectonics to put our ideas into practice, creating a new space to complement our existing Edwardian terraced house. They guided us through the planning process advising us on what the planners would expect … Building Tectonics went the extra mile to support us through planning applications, party wall process and the build.  The result is a fantastic extra space for our family to live in, giving us the home we want without having to move house.”

Tony proved invaluable in the decision making process to extend our Victorian property with a loft conversion and transfer of bathroom space. We were very specific and demanding in our brief and Tony really listened to our requirements. The concept he created was amazing, the man is truly inspired.”

“Like most households, the kitchen and dining rooms were just used as rooms of function. We cooked in the kitchen and we occasionally ate in the dining room. We had previously knocked through to make a kitchen/diner, but still this would be a wasted space.

An extension to our family led us to consider an extension to the home. We wanted to create a family environment. One where the space could be used, and the outside could be brought in.”

“Bluebirds was in fact possibly the first nursing home in the country to meet the new government design standards. Tony was unflinching in his professionalism and even when we required design changes at the last minute, these were carried out stoically and with no drama”.

Tony and Team

I just wanted to drop a quick note over the weekend to thank you for all the hard work and fantastic ideas that you have supplied myself and M for the bungalow, that we are purchasing. To say that we both had the wow factor is a slight under statement, the property had a very difficult layout and we were both confused as to how we could open it up and allow the bungalow to have the large open spaces that we wanted. You have done this with ease and given us both inspiration for our new home.

We are both very excited to be working with the entire team and feel we have picked a company with team that is truly exceptional!

Thanks you all very much.

Working with Building-tectonics was a very useful step for us.  We wanted to make our house work for our family but didn’t quite know the direction to take.  Building-tectonics gave us a selection of different possible routes that made us look at our home in a completely different way. Nothing was too much trouble.

Building-tectonics gave us a list of builders that they felt would be appropriate, we chose one company and they proved to be superb in every way.

We now have a very different and a very special home.

Given the choice of projects within a limited budget our members chose to have a toilet installed on our Eaton Avenue allotment site.

Following a generous financial grant from the Big Lottery Fund towards the provision of an environmentally friendly composting toilet, we were grateful for the help from Tony of Building Tectonics in obtaining the necessary planning permission. This was done without fuss and quickly, enabling us to have a grand opening of the toilet by Iain Stewart MP, within a few weeks at an open day for the public.

We currently have an ongoing project in the Little Horwood area, for which we provided a ‘mood board’ of materials that we would like to use in the design of their home. This is what the client had to say about the concept:

“Thank you for the initial drawing, they are excellent food for thought and the mood board of materials also helps.”
